The Green Hornet

With director Michel Gondry 's The Green Hornet adaptation opening nationwide in just over a week's time, Columbia Pictures is trying to get potential moviegoers excited by releasing four new preview clips from the movie, which straddles the line between action and comedy. Featured for the first time in a movie clip is Edward Furlong , who plays Tupper, a mininon of crime kingpin Chudnofsky (Academy Award–winner Christoph Waltz ), the Green Hornet's ( Seth Rogen ) main adversary. Also featured in one of the clips is an extended look at Gondry's latest contribution to action movie visual effects — Gondry helped develop the "bullet time" technique that made Keanu Reeves such a badass in The Matrix trilogy — "Kato Vision," which has only been glimpsed in previously released trailers and clips.

In the first new clip, Britt Reid (Rogen), heir to a publishing empire fortune, and Kato ( Jay Chou ), a resourceful employee who worked for Reid's late father ( Tom Wilkinson ), hit the streets to fight crime (pre-superhero costumes) and we get a look inside the mind of a martial arts master as "Kato Vision" goes into full effect.

In the second new clip, Britt and Kato (still pre-costumes) take their new battle cruiser, the "Black Beauty," out for a spin and end up running afoul of the police.

In the third new clip, we see Britt using his publishing empire to spread the word about his alter-ego (to the accompaniment of a very '80s buddy cop-sounding soundtrack).

In the final new clip, Tupper (Furlong) tries to explain to Chudnofsky (Waltz) that "a grown man wearing a mask is a little bit scarier than a guy wearing a suit," which Chudnofsky does not appreciate hearing.

The Green Hornet was written by Rogen and Evan Goldberg ( Superbad, Pineapple Express ). Cameron Diaz , David Harbour , and Edward James Olmos also star.
