We knew Number Six couldn’t be too far behind when Baltar is around, right? Last week, when I shared the news that James Callis had been tapped for a role in Ron Moore’s new NBC pilot, 17th Precinct , I asked if anyone had gotten in touch with Tricia Helfer. TVLine brings word that apparently someone did. Helfer was actually already in talks and she joined up practically on the heels of Callis hopping on-board.
With Callis and Jamie Bamber already attached, Helfer boosts the BSG count up to three for the new pilot that follows the cops of Excelsior, where magic and the supernatural co-exist with modern science. Helfer is cast in the role of necromancer Morgana, an expert at manipulating potions, tools, herbs, and spells. In this twisted vision of the world, a necromancer and a coroner are practically the same thing, so she’ll be working with the police force.
Seriously, if they don’t bring Katee Sackhoff on as a regular character then they at least need to snag her for a guest appearance.
While BSG fans might be rejoicing, I’ve got some bad news for you if you’ve been looking forward to NBC’s anthology series Love Bites because it looks like the show isn’t going to make it.has reported that Becki Newton, who was formerly attached to that project, has moved on to CBS for a comedy pilot about a blue-collar man who lives with his wife, their grown daughter (Newton) and her 12-year-old son, and his recently widowed mother. No word yet on the name of the show but it sounds like a great set-up that could be loaded with laughs.
